FAQ Got a Question???
What does unbolted Mean...?"Unbolted" is a term from the past when corn was ground directly from the
field.(husk, trash, and all) No concentrated cleaning or bleaching processes were
used. Which also means the seed germ is still attached. We have added one cleaning process
since we ground with water power. We still consider our meal to be "Unbolted".
I'm not sure of the process used to remove the seed germ as we have never used it. White vs. Yellow...?This is a tough question to answer. I prefer yellow, it seems to be a little sweeter and have a little more consistency than the white. The buyers run about 50/50. Our local restaurants use yellow for cornbread and hushpuppies. It goes well with our local southern pork bar-b-que. The seed should be placed 1" deep 3 - 8 inches apart. The cotton seedling should emerge in 5 - 7 days. In doors I would start in a 6" pot. 3 seed one inch deep. If 3 emerge keep one or two. Transplant into bigger pots as needed. Cotton enjoys a moist soil not wet. Back to Top?Back to Top
